Женевский автосалон - 2012 (Geneva Motor Show - 2012): Infiniti Emerg-E

Infiniti представит в Женеве концептуальный гибридный суперкар Emerg-E. Разработчики называют его «электромобилем с увеличенным запасом хода», то есть ДВС выполняет лишь вспомогательную функцию, а передвигаться можно исключительно на зарядке от розетке. Компоновка суперкара среднемоторная. Дизайн выполнен под руководством шеф-дизайнера Infiniti Такаши Накаджимы (Takashi Nakajima).

I can't get whether you think that infinity is good or bad and why.

Hey Roman, and thanks for your reply.

Regarding Infiniti – yes, I think its definitely good. Beautifully shaped and, IMHO, completely free of excessive details – strong, solid design.
But reading your utterly negative comment (and earlier you also strongly defended EB.LA project, praising it as ‘incredibly cool’ and ‘megaprofessional’) I actually starting to doubt highly acclaimed HS Pforzheim. If in the end you've both eventually developed such …say, irrational and simplistic mindset (no offense, IMHO only) - was it really worth it to learn there?

I mean, you guys supposed to be professionals, right?

Hey, Pforzheim is the best place in the World to study cardesign ;)
By saying that I'm not professional you not only accuse Pforzheim university but also MAMI where I studied Bachelor for 4 years)) But of course you can have your own opinion about that.

About infinity:
I don't see the clear readable statement of that design, maybe it was readable before the car started melting.
There is not enough tension in the lines and surfaces for sports car. To many unnecessary elements which contradicts with golden rule of design "keep it simple"
Air intake on the rear fender creates lack of volume cause you reed surface that goes into and sticks to the wheel. there is no continuity in some lines - for example door shut line runs to the front but has no relation with bumper lines.
C-pillar... You tell me what happens there =)

Front is a complete disaster:
wrinkles above the head lamps look like the result of non professional modelling in Alias.
In general front looks like a sad dog face.
the point where "millions" of lines come together (link between headlamp and the grill) looks very weak.
Many sharp angles produce the impression of low quality. Even the most sharp angle in good design should have small rounding.

Can't say anything bad about rear part apart from similarity with Jag.

So if you still think that this is professional work than how such a non professional guy like me was able to see that mistakes..?
I can assure you that these are just some of them.

V:_ Yes, my comment was a little bit provocative, but thanks to that I’ve finally got some kind of analysis here – not just groundless opinion. And while I used 2 IMHOs, I probably forgot about smiles ;-) Yes, I know about MAMI (actually, was kinda impressed by your graduation project there) - anyway, I’m glad that you was able to see original intent of my comment.

V:_ Well, I can see this statement. Actually, this sentence is difficult to comment – even if it start melting (while it’s not) this is not necessary bad thing (Mazda Taiki and a lot others). Not every sports car should looks like Aventador.

V:_ I’d say, more than enough tension. Again, you can argue about such tension as necessary feature for sports car. For example, Isdera Commendatore, 911 – and a lot others. Can you pick some reference car for appropriate tension in the lines?

V:_ Oh man, you should definitely tell Hilgers about this rule. Come on, just compare EB.LA and this Infiniti – and tell me you joking :-)

V:_ And why you think there should be more volume? I mean, you may actually be right on this point, but, if possible, I‘d like to know the exact reason for additional volume in this place.

V:_ Hmm…well, yes – I must admit, this is not the best part of a car :-)

V:_ Again, I cannot see any problem there. You may like or not the very wrinkles, but in regard with the surfaces this Infiniti clearly follows already established trend of BMW hood and frontend surfacing – and it not inferior to BMW, at least.

V:_ Well, if you try hard enough you may see beautiful Chinese girl there. I mean, it may appears this way to you only – this is not a drawback really.

V:_ Actually, there is more than enough logic in transitions, and thus, IMHO, its definitely not ‘weak’. If you insist, please redefine ‘weakness’ specific to this case.

V:_ But it HAS rounding, and its relatively big which clearly visible on upscale renders! Please, take a good look again.

V:_ Yes – in the end I still think this Infiniti is a VERY professional work. It is much more professional than EB.LA project. And if you let me add some emotion – I’d say, superior to the point which almost make any comparizon useless.

V:_ Well, as I pointed above, they are not mistakes, actually. And, personally, I’m talking to you exactly because I consider you as professional – ‘otherwise I just wouldn’t waste my time on that’ – or something like that ;-)

I must say sorry but I'll not dive deeper into this discussion because It'll become endless.

Never the less I respect your point of view, because you've come to this conclusion by making analysis, and that's the key thing, so keep doing that.

Thanks for the good words about my bachelor thesis.

очередная ЙОБА-понторезка для NFS. задние фары несколько великоваты, зато передние весьма хороши. боковина тоже вкусная. внутри почти стандартный современный вычур.
